I approach my art making from a variety of methodologies. Most often I am inspired by ideas. Then I search for a way to “realize” an idea in a visual manner. This leads me into a variety of media such as printmaking, collage, assemblage, photography, and painting.

I often work with “appropriated” images, finding ways to reassemble them, making them my own in the process. My visual interests are diverse, ranging across bubble chamber images from Lawrence Berkeley Labs; Arctic ice melt maps; California landscapes; travel photographs; political and scientific news; and old postcards. My goal is always to like both the visuals and their embedded ideas.
