Selected for this exhibition was my etching Homage 2. Here I pay homage to Albert Einstein, Bolinas, Alice Wingwall, my cat Mink and my Harlan Street Studio’s view of the Santa Fe toxic remediation project, but most of all to John Cage and his unique art making process. I was able to watch and photograph him at Crown Point Press in 1992 when he created his HV2 series. We also ate lunch together. He cooked wild mushrooms, collected from his mother’s house, in Bragg’s Amino Acid. My response to his process, however, shown in the print above, included documentation of my grid, appropriate for an artist/librarian documenting her sources.
